Baby Blue and Gold
ENG Yesterday evening I've been thinking about society's attitude to inner - outer beauty relation. I guess cultural differences vary in countries but as I grew up it was taught that being smart is better than being just beautiful. Well, maybe not so radically, but you see the point.
Nobody is born clever or handsome - we all start as screaming muffins. While getting older we are taught to speak, read, write and stuffed with much useful (and not-so-useful) information. Being intelligent is respected - everyone should obtain knowledge, learn skills and develop own personality. Being smart and unsightly is acceptable (everywhere except school, obvious) but being beautiful and less knowledgable is shame (neighbouring with crime).
Nevertheless everyone likes to watch nice-looking people. And if you are not exception which came to this world with perfect skin, shiny hair, flat belly and did not earn dark circles under eyes during university time (because you, as born exception, are also genius who did not spend nights studying), you might be glad to discover the world of beauty products. Don't get me wrong - I am not supporter of fake body improvements; I believe that everyone is beautiful in their own unique way but sometimes we need little touch ups to brighten it !
So why do we learn at school how to embroider and knit instead of makeup basics ? Girls spend so many years experimenting and failing until finally master personal style and use of makeup. Or give up and leave this stuff cause I just don' t like anything on my face. And it's ok - nobody judges plain looks as long as you know latest politics or cultural news.
For me makeup and styling are forms of art and in some ways even more difficult than classical ones. There are many rules about colours, forms, combinations and even if you think you know it all - the challenge is to transform this knowledge and apply to diverse persons, each of whom has unique skin, shape, colour palette and taste. Even when not working as a professional stylist and just doing it for yourself - it takes time, money and skills to look good !
Please forgive me if I have affronted anyone - I am noone to judge people's appearances. I just wanted to point out that outer-self needs as much attention as inner-self and in my opinion it is not good to put concentration only one one side - balance ! Sometimes I feel that society takes beautiful people for granted and do not appreciate the effort put in it, judging them stronger on fails and unawarence than everyone else. But we are all made from skin, blood and bones - coming to this world for some time and then leaving. So let's just love each other !!
Enjoy pictures and warming weather outside, wishing you the most amazing end of the week !
Vairāk cieņas - to man gribētos novēlēt visiem !
